The Impressionists with Tim Marlow (all 8 programs)

Monday, March 15th, 2010

The Impressionists with Tim Marlow is EXCLUSIVELY DISTRIBUTED by Microcinema DVD. To order this DVD and/or others distributed by Microcinema, go to: www.microcinemadvd.com.

The Impressionists have become the international superstars of Western painting. The works of Manet, Monet, Renoir, Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec, Cezanne and the great successors of Impressionism like Gauguin and Van Gogh appear everywhere and are well loved by the public and academics alike. In addition to their popularity and accessibility, for their time impressionist paintings were radical works of art, which instigated a revolution in the art world. The Impressionists broke away from traditional, academic art in their technique – by using touches of colour to capture movement and light and in their subject matter, depicting ordinary people at work and leisure in Paris and on the banks of the Seine. In this series, “The Impressionists with Tim Marlow”, we are reacquainted with the artists – their motivations and loves, triumphs and disappointments and with their work. Marlow takes us on a journey through late nineteenth-century France and he invites us to immerse ourselves in the greatest impressionist works of art.

Impressionism with Monet & Renoir – With Light There Is Hope

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Please watch in HQ! :) || Song: With Light There Is Hope – Princess One Point Five

Claude Monet & Pierre-Auguste Renoir – my favourite impressionism-drawers. :)
Not all pictures are pure Impressionism ( also new-(Neo-)impressionism / pointilism ).
But they’re all really beautiful in my eyes =)

I like impressionism because it’s a very flexible and soft art to apply the colour.
Very romantic ;D

My favourite painting is “Le petite Irène” (first painting after his portrait).

Btw, Monet had drawn so many pictures from the same place because when he went old he can’t see so much of the world anymore, so he tried to draw everything with an other daylight and perspective.

Sorry for my bad english again . :D

Paint Like Picasso: Oil Paintings by Paul Cumes

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

http://www.paulcumes.com

April 2007 Painting Video edition #1. Oil painting on canvas. I love this period of Picasso’s work and they are really fun to copy. Picasso himself loved to copy. For example, he copied a Cezanne still life for Gertrude Stein. These Picasso copies are not meant to be exact and take about an hour each to do. While you’re here, check out some of my other art videos and for even more excitement visit my website link above. And if you have an appetite for more painting madness, then hit the yellow button and subscribe!
