Artists that change and manipulate other original art?
Hey
I was wondering whether anyone knew of any artists that take other artists work and change and manipulate it to look like something else.
Or just any artists that take a simple object, such as a flower or a face and make it look completely different.

Erm just to make it clear i mean literally change it, like take a piece of their work and distort it, draw on it etc.

Marcel Duchamp painted a mustache on a reproduction of the mona lisa and it was considered brilliant.
Otherwise, pop art fits that description. People take cultural icons like Andy Warhol and the Campbells soup painting, and make art out of them.

Most artists are inspired or influenced by the work of others. Look at that produced by Andy Warhol in the 60s and 70s.

Any artiste of average standard can make changes to an
original work of art and call it his or her own. It is not the
first time it has been done and probably will not be the last
A few years ago a certain Tom Keating copied many works
of art and sold them to many rich people even to a certain
well known New York art gallerey also in London and many
other well known places but he never signed any of them
but it did not stop other people signing them and passing
them off as genuine.There is a book about Tom Keating

Try looking at post modernism.
The painting American Gothic has been manipulated and changed by different artist.
Also the classic painting of Mona Lisa
