In the last few years, more and more average people from around the globe have begun reaching for space. From rockets to balloons, finding ways to get to space have started with simple ideas and grown to complex endeavors.  People are putting cameras in space balloons to take pictures and videos.  For years, science students have sent up weather balloons to measure temperature, humidity, pressure, and even lightning activity. Now small but smart technology exists so that anyone can do it.  People are even sending and receiving radio transmissions and live video. And of course, you can’t forget the GPS location and beaconing devices. And what goes up is only half the excitement and expense. Tracking and recovering the balloon is almost a sport in itself, a bit of live, unfolding geo-caching to the end. And then the data and images still need going through, interpolating, and of course sharing with others online. This site is dedicated to exploring the hobby & sport of sending balloons (and perhaps other objects) into space. Enjoy! And please share your knowledge and stories in the forum.
