With so many weight loss supplements on the market these days, it’s hard to know what to trust. After all, who has the time to really do the research on their own to figure out what the heck goes into these miracle pills and creams and how those products are intended to interact with the body?

Traditionally, the best known weight loss supplements have been those which work to raise the body’s metabolism. This would be things like ephedrine, yohimbe, caffeine, etc. Essentially, weight loss is a battle of calories in versus calories out, and by increasing the number of calories your body burns, you lose weight.

However, it is also important not to overlook “calories in.” While you can lose weight by working on either side of this equation, fat loss can be maximized by concentrating on both. Keep in mind that it takes a caloric deficit of approximately 3500 in order to lose one pound of fat.
