Before starting the laundry, sort the clothes accordingly. Separate those delicate clothes which you cared most like the formal shirts for men and women to the less cared one such as the pajamas. After sorting out everything, look for stains in every clothes before soaking it into the water. It will be very hard for the naked eye to identify the stains if the clothes is soaked in water. ; however there are also heavily stained clothes that can still be visible even when it is placed in water. Stains are found usually along the collar and underarm of both the ladies and mens shirts. Remove the stains first before washing everything.

Once the stain is removed, you can wash it together with the other clothes according to its classification. Set aside those clothes that is to be hand-washed and dry-cleaned. Also separate those clothes that should be handled with care such as the custom made shirts, suits, vests, dress skirts and pants. Place all delicate items in one basket and the durable ones in another basket. Do not mix it. Then separate them according to the type of wash. Sort as well the clothes according to colors, like placing all dark clothing on one side and all the lighter shades on the other side. Then after which, determine the size of the load to be washed, and dial the machine on a selected size. Refrain to fill the machine with bunch of clothes. The clothes must be loosely placed and distributed evenly. Do not also pile clothes higher than the agitator.

Make it a habit to always check the tags of the clothing before washing.
