When Google sees a search for merchants or things to do in a city or specific locale, it now devotes the entire results page to information about the places mentioned in the search request! Here’s an example – is search for “Greenwich Italian restaurants” will likely result in an entire page of listing on different places to eat, and if listed correctly in Google’s local search, Italian restaurants accompanied by a map, specific phone numbers, addresses and reviews. In the past, Google displayed information about similar business in a city or locale over over several pages.ÃÂ GoogleÃÂ realized this wide-spread approach was frustrating searchers and therefore multiple searches were required to find the right information. Not any longer!ÃÂ The new local business system will go into effect this Wednesday.ÃÂ It may take several days before the new “Place Search” feature is available throughout the world, but it should be everywhere that Google is very soon.
