Real Art vs Modern Art
My Art Rant.
Anybody who is into modern art can go to because its people like you who are ruining the lives of people who worked their entire lives to portray people, wildlife, fantasy and Science Fiction as real as possible. Color tones, bone structure, shape and form.
Do you realize that Modern art is putting Realistic artists out of business? Its not really a business but more of a way of life that is all they know. Trust me i know! I say to with the modern artists! They can rot in as far as I care.
I have respect for artists but when they pull the crap that you see now a days and call it modern art I would like to see them fed to the sharks. Literally!
If your an artist, do art for art sake and make it realistic. Not the preschool looking crap these so called professional artists are doing.
The only professional artists in this world are ones who can properly replicate nature in any medium! Weather its nature in fantasy or reality. It has to be realistic…
I know your going to say.. What about cartoons? Heres your answer… I dont watch Tv or Listen to the radio. because theres nothing good on. Cartoons are crap now a days. I dont see any cartoon worth watching. Sure some anime is ok but I dont really care for it.
Back to the subject at hand… If you paint or sculpt, do the world and the future generations a favor and be a realist artist… Give them some idea of what real art is before its too late.

What’s the point of realism AFTER the invention of Pictures and Videos. What’s the point of trying to replicate reality, when you can just go out and photograph it or film it? Don’t you see how the advent of video and photo technology killed the pursuit of realism in art?

@whalehunting for instance if i crapped on a piece of modern art and recorded myself doing it… no one would enjoy it because they can’t know. Now if i video taped it someone would enjoy it… but only because they aren’t a pretentious idiot who thinks modern art is good.

@whalehunting one doesn’t need to be able to create art to be able to judge it… but that’s not the point. it doesnt have to be realistic, but at least have visual quality since art at its very core is visual and emotional when u take away the visual and leave emotional that is incomprehensible to the viewer its pointless. you must complete the project.

you do know that when you say “modern art” you are referring to a movement that started a hundred and forty years ago with artists like Monet. This movement is still going now. What you might be referring to is a separate faction of “modern” called abstraction.

you can’t know art, …
you can’t know art, because art is as different as the person who makes it. Some of the art is in the modern art section is good, shows perspective, and the qualities that someone who studied art would include. This is just my opinion. but i do agree, most modern art is just total crap. My aunt bought this peice of “art” and I thought it was a rock that she was going to use for something like furniture. some of the art today looks like someone rolled a canvas over a tragic car accident!

Seems like a limited viewpoint. Sure as with any form of art there are going to be pieces that look like melted ice cream. To say however modern art is in anyway a negative influence on society, taking away work, warping the market? Is just Blind-sided ego. So what if an image sucks, or its a masterpiece….the truth behind any stunning piece is not how much it looks like something already in existance, but the idea that its trying to protry

I would agree the modern art you displayed in the video is rather pitiful, but I don’t understand your view that art should be realistic. What is realistic? By your definition it would seem that only one sense organ is used in the perception of art. The feeling center in a man or woman is another tool of perception that can be stimulated by a few simple colours. In your view, what is the purpose of art? Also, may I see some of your work?
