France 2006 1.5 Euro Paul Cezanne 22.20gm Silver Proof Coin

France 2006 1.5 Euro Paul Cezanne 22.20gm Silver Proof Coin Paul Cezanne was an artist firmly rooted in his native Provence, but also a universal genius who heralded the avant-garde artistic movements of the 20th century. Picasso developed Cezanne’s planar compositions into cubism, and Matisse greatly admired his use of color. Cezanne used color with passion and creativity, giving his brush strokes structure, solidity, and durability.

What would be some ALBUMS that would be examples of IMPRESSIONISM in music?

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

Those who have studied Painting know what Impressionism is. It is painting with broad strokes to let the mind of the observer fill in the details. It works with the mind as an equal partner – by only giving the gist of the scene to the mind.

Impressionism with Monet & Renoir – With Light There Is Hope

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Please watch in HQ! :) || Song: With Light There Is Hope – Princess One Point Five

Claude Monet & Pierre-Auguste Renoir – my favourite impressionism-drawers. :)
Not all pictures are pure Impressionism ( also new-(Neo-)impressionism / pointilism ).
But they’re all really beautiful in my eyes =)

I like impressionism because it’s a very flexible and soft art to apply the colour.
Very romantic ;D

My favourite painting is “Le petite Irène” (first painting after his portrait).

Btw, Monet had drawn so many pictures from the same place because when he went old he can’t see so much of the world anymore, so he tried to draw everything with an other daylight and perspective.

Sorry for my bad english again . :D

what is post expressionism and no i dont mean post impressionism?

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

i found two descriptions for this art movement one says it was art about the war from artist like Otto Dix then i found something saying its more about using simple shaps to express reality or something like that i cant find any thing that will give me a clear answer

Post Expressionism is a form of art in which the artist expresses himself purely through the use of form and color. It is nonrepresentational, or non-objective, art, which means that there are no concrete objects represented. Centered in New York City 1946 through the 1960′s,it is now considered to be the first American artistic movement of worldwide importance, the term was originally used to describe the work of Arshile Gorky, Willem de Kooning, and Jackson Pollock. The focus is on the physical act of painting: see two groups – Action Painting and Color field painting at http://arthistory.heindorffhus.dk/frame-Style22-PostExpressionism.htm

What are the major characteristics of impressionism?

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

i would say that THE major characteristic is the study of light effects; that’s why they did several different takes of the same scene but at different times of day, also why they often (but not always) painted out of doors. also the idea that, instead of mixing colors on the palette, you put pure color next to each other on the canvas and the EYE mixes the color when you look at it. remember there are different kinds of impressionists tho, this would mainly describe those in the vein of Monet.
