Wildlife art – watercolour step by step owl painting
‘Ural Owl’ by Tracy Hall.
Finely detailed watercolour painting showing the stages from the initial sketch to the completed piece. The painting measures 6.5″ x 4.5″ and is worked on Arches HP paper.
This is my first attempt at a video of me working; I hope its not too long and that you enjoy it:)

Wow, I’m trying to resist the urge to go dig my watercolors out again! How inspiring. Super job. Ok, urge resisted, I think I will stick to acrylics! I have a lot of trouble with watercolors misbehaving, I see that you do not have that trouble at all. Super job, thanks for taking the time and effort to make this video. Will certainly go in my favorites.

Hi – its white …
Hi – its white watercolour (titanium). I add it to the mix to make it opaque for fine hairs (or feathers!). I expect gouache would work much the same though. Thanks again for your nice comments and I hope that helps.
