How do I set up my own website to sell original art here in Australia?

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

I’m trying to sell my own paintings, and create my own business, but I’m not very computer literate. I would prefer to start off selling here in Australia. My paintings are all oil on canvas or board. Some are quite large (1m-1m). I’m not going to try to send framed paintings as it will be cheaper not to.

your website will be international first off & thet is cool . popclt.com is mine & i traded the website work for my art & everyone was happy ! i found a student at a local college taking a class on web design & was happy to have a jumpstart with my having photos of my work as well as bios of myself & my works . hope this gives you some thought & best of luck ! tp.mullin

What is the best digital camera for photographing original art work to post online as well as make cards?

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

I would like to purchase something in the $140-$300 range, if possible.

Get something like a Canon Powershot camera and you would be all set. Remember when taking pictures you want natural lighting. Also I recommend a tripod to minimize camera shake which results in blurriness in your pictures.

Where are some cheap places to get prints or original art paintings in the Seattle area?

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

I’m just looking for some cool cheap painting or cheap prints. Any ideas of where I can get them in person and not online?
Thanks

You might want to check out fairs, I have been to spring fairs, and summer fairs, and art fairs, lots of fairs and have always seen local art. Keep your eyes out for any community papers, as they should have a list of those in the area when they are going to happen.
