what was the type of art that came before the impressionism era? does anyone know a good website? or just have an answer?
Realism was the movement which directly preceded Impressionism. It began in the 1860s in France, arguably with Gustave Courbet, who tried to reveal the harsh reality of "un-bourguois" culture by painting seemingly mundane everyday rural scenes on an epic scale similar to that of history painting.

Modern style is our picture called Stand. A print of seven tall skinny trees with the sun shining down on them. This could be a modern statement. A print placed onto thick plywood, then high gloss lacquered finishes with layers of resin coated on top brings out definition on our wood art. Size is 30 inches wide x 54 inches high. The wood art will be framed with a 2 and a half inch black border.

I already have it in the search engines, so I need to know how to advertise the website.
"If you build it, they will come" is not necessarily true on the Web. Putting a website up is one thing, but getting visitors to come to your site is another. The process becomes even more difficult if you have limited resources to market your business.

I am a senior about to graduate with my Bachelors. Just a question I hope someone can answer. Do philosophy, sociology, and literature classes count as fine arts? I am meeting with my advisor next week, but wanted some info before regristration is over. This info is not on my universities website.
Philosophy and sociology may count as humanities or social sciences or liberal arts, but not fine arts.

Korean Title: Seonmul Starring: Lee Jeong-Jae, Lee Yeong-Ae, Gweon Hae-Hyo Director: Oh Gi-Hwan Studio: CJ Entertainment Rating: 15+ Genre: Drama Important! Please read before you order! >>> This DVD is encoded for Region 3 . This DVD will NOT be viewable on regular DVD players made in the U.S.A., European countries or Japan unless they are code-(region-)free DVD players. To learn more about DVD Region Code, please visit our Info Page and look for Info on DVD Region Code in Return Policy section . About This DVD The movie Last Present(a.k.a ‘The Gift’) contains scenes of a captivating play, which itself contains a play within it. The hallmark of any masterpiece is a well- executed play-within-a-play. What makes it such a profound theatrical device is that it creates ‘mirroring.’ As drama is based on holding a mirror up to nature, it is only fitting that the play itself should be reflected in its own mini-drama. The play in Last Present is inward- looking, while its play-within-a-play projects a view outward to the larger world. The effect is to have the world turned inside out: First, the world is turned inward through the main drama, then outward through the mini- drama. This mini-drama is always a reflection of the larger whole, showing us how life imitates art as much as art imitates life. In this mini-drama the action of the entire movie reaches a crescendo. The character Yong-gi’s wife (Lee Yeong-Ae) is in the audience as he acts in a vaudeville performance combining mime, slapstick, female impressionism and operatic tragedy. His partner is playing a husband and he is the wife. They are in their bathing costumes at the beach. The husband (played by Lee Jeong-Jae) is being nagged and beaten by his wife. Tears of joy and sorrow stream from Jong-yoon’s face as she looks on. As in the recognition scene of a classical drama, she finally recognizes the true nature of their relationship. It is the story of their life together. The performers are swimming and

A New York lawyer with Virginia roots, T. Catesby Jones acquired an extraordinary collection of paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures by some sixty artists working in Paris during the early twentieth century. Jones s collection of almost three hundred works, divided between two Virginia institutions after his death, is reunited here in an illustrated catalogue with a full-color checklist accompanied by entries on twenty-four of the artists. Some are the best-known figures of this crucial era (Matisse, Picasso, Braque, Masson, Lipchitz); others are now less familiar (Lurcat, Bauchant, Marcoussis). Considered together, they provide a comprehensive view of modern art in Paris up to World War II and bring Jones s legacy to a wide audience for the first time. Distributed for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
